I have been licensed and selling Medicare health plans since 2007. I by no means can say I know it all, but I would consider myself an expert. What I do try to do is to learn something new all the time and keep up with the industry. I also value and respect my customers and have learned quite a bit from them as well. 

When I first started with Medicare insurance, I worked as a captive agent for one insurance company. They did give me extensive training and for that I am grateful for that but wanted to be able to give my customers a more personal experience and thus went out on my own as an independent agent. 

Many brokers/agencies sell multiple lines of insurance, including Medicare health plans. I am of the belief that you cannot be an expert on everything and I have preferred to focus primarily on Medicare insurance. I am what you call independent because I don’t work for any particular insurance company. What I do is to contract with insurance companies that I feel represent more of what folks like you are looking for and companies that have shown success in the market and are financially stable.  With certain plans the healthcare provider network and prescription drug formularies are very important as well. 

Every customer has different needs and there is not a one all plan out there, so that is why I contract with several. I am compensated by the insurance companies when I put someone in their plan, but the compensation for me is only secondary to the right plan for my customer first. What that means for you is that my services cost you nothing. 

I am licensed in 31 states so my customer base is diversified. But one thing folks like is if they have to move to a different state, most times they can keep me. 

A little personal information about me. I am 64 years old and I am a widow. I live in the mountains of east Tennessee. I enjoy my little farm on 5 acres. I have three dogs, a parrot, 17 chickens, 7 dwarf goats and two fat pet sheep. I really enjoy nature and love listening to the trout stream that runs alongside my property line and the view of the mountains from my office window.
